My Home, My Magadan

I was born in Magadan, a coastal town in the Russian Far East know for its fishing industry, gold mines and GULAG camps. This is the place where I spent first 17 years of my life. It’s cold and bleak, and has a dark past, but it is also beautiful in its resilience and people who fall in love with it and could never leave. I’ve been photographing my parents since I first held camera in my hands.
